Adam
Raphael Zaliouk.
I was born in London, England, and moved to the USA when I was 5 years old. I am told that even as a young child I was interested in art and paintings, accompanying my parents to art galleries and exhibitions in many different countries.
I attended Maumee Valley Country Day School in Toledo, Ohio where I studied art first with Louann Glover and later with David Burkett.
More recently, I have studied with Diana Harrison in Israel. I have had the opportunity to study a wide variety of painting styles including Picasso, Cezanne, Miro, Matisse, and Diego Rivera. These are just a few artists who inspire me. I never actually chose to paint – it chose me beckoning me to start to mix colors and transform the canvas with paint.
I am inspired by landscapes, images, people and especially the sea. My favorite color is blue. I like decorative paintings, something that adds to the mood of a room. Often I find myself trying out a new technique or idea without planning it. I enjoy painting abstract art, as it allows the viewer to see images that are unique and personal.
At the moment I am entranced by Mexico, its people, its culture and rich colors. Its landscapes include the sea, sun, desert, jungles, and I am intrigued by its colorful history.
My hobbies include diving, biking, taekwondo, photography, and cooking.
I hope you enjoy this site and some of my paintings. You can expect to see more of my work in the near future. Please contact me at
